The Melt Flight Crew

Melt is a three-piece multisensory, visceral rock band with mission control located in Pittsburgh. Formed in 2020, the flight crew includes Joey Troupe, J.J. Young, and James May - three seasoned musicians and cosmonauts with a diverse range of experience in the music industry.

In July 2021, Melt released their self-titled debut and performed live for the first time, quickly developing a reputation in the Pittsburgh music scene for their lively and engaging stage presence, heavy rhythmic sound, and unique extraterrestrial aesthetic.

In July of 2023, Melt released their follow-up LP, Replica of Man, which received critical acclaim across the blogosphere and throughout the known galaxy, including mentions on websites such as Doom Charts, podcasts including Fuzz Club, and other celestial outposts. The album was promoted with three singles (Problem Child, Sight to See, and Diviner), two music videos (Diviner and Skeleton Girl), and several concert videos documenting Melt's electrifying live performance.

Melt continues to promote Replica of Man with an active show schedule and touring, being booked as headliners, support for national acts (including Silver Synthetic and more), and at festivals. Melt has been named the WYEP Artists of the Week twice, has been covered in several print features, and vinyl copies of Replica of Man can be purchased online or in record stores regionally.
